Primary type information: Primary type material: 50 syntype workers, 5 syntype queens, 20 syntype workers. Primary type locality: Morocco: Haut Atlas, Tizi Ghourane (= Tizoughrane), v.1983 (H. Cagniant). Primary type depositories: HCPC, MNHN.

[Described as Camponotus cruentatus-group, hence subgenus Camponotus (Myrmosericus).]
