Camponotus similis Donisthorpe, 1933 homonym replaced by Camponotus sklarus Bolton, 1995
Camponotus (Tanaemyrmex) similis Donisthorpe, 1933b: 198 (s.w.) MYANMAR. Indomalaya.
Primary type information: Primary type material: syntype major and minor workers (numbers not stated). Primary type locality: Myanmar (“Burma”): (no further data) (C.T. Bingham). Primary type depository: BMNH (perhaps also OXUM). Type notes: 1) This taxon is based on workers of Colobopsis badia Smith, 1857a, sensu Bingham, 1903: 358, misidentification. 2) Bingham, 1903: 358, in his misidentification of Colobopsis badia Smith, 1857a cites both major and minor workers from Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia (Peninsula and Borneo); but Donisthorpe, 1933b: 198, apparently cites only a single specimen, “Type in Coll. Brit. Mus”. This is assumed here to be from Myanmar where Bingham did much collecting but must be regarded as one among an original syntype series from all three localities.
