Primary type locality: neotype Costa Rica: Puntarenas: 4 km SSE San Vito, 8.783333 N 82.966667 W, 1200 m, 18.iii.1990, second-growth rainforest, on low vegetation, #10564-2 (P.S. Ward). Primary type depository: MHNG (neotype). Primary type specimen: CASENT0758334 (top specimen on pin). Type notes: 1) Prebus, 2021b: 385, also nominates a “paraneotype”, a category not recognised by ICZN. 2) Original type data: syntype workers (number not stated), Panama: Volcan de Chiriqui (Champion); material absent from BMNH, MHNG, not found by Baroni Urbani, 1978b: 495.
